The Great Northwest Woodshop is located in the heart of The Cascade Mountains in the pear growing region of The Wenatchee Valley, about two hours East of Seattle.
Our path has led us through many forms of woodworking. Beginning with kitchen cabinets, we ventured off into railings, mantels, entry doors, tables, and furniture. This diversity has come directly from the unique perspective and requirements of the home owner.
We add our techniques and experience of some 28 years to make their vision a reality. We pay attention to grain matching . Carvings, flutes, appliqués, and other techniques must not overpower the flow of wood figure. I guess you could say we try to bring the natural beauty out of the wood and let it do the talking.
Proper proportions and contrasting geometry are important and we try to incorporate radiused raised panels and curved moldings wherever possible. Top it off with a finish that allows the natural wood to age gracefully.
